Follow the trail that meanders through forests, wet your toes in cool mountain streams and listen as birdsong shatters the silence of a solitary walk. Say hello to the fairies... you are in the Valley Of Flowers.
It is at Devprayag that the swirling waters of the Bhagirathi and the Alakananada rivers meet to form the mighty Ganges. And it is here at dawn the hill to sit by The Sangam and gaze into infinity. There are more prayag, Kamprayag, Nandprayag- confluences all – before we reach Joshimath, which is covered in a cloud of mist. The town is so much of a serai that its Narsingh temple an ancient stone structure with colourful woodwork is often bypassed.
