TROUT :Trout
fishing in the ice-fed clear mountain streams and
high altitude lakes are excellent for both brown and
rainbow trout. Solitude seekers spend hours in quiet
contemplation of the beauty around.
A) HIMACHAL PRADESH Streams
feeding the Beas river in Kullu region are well known
for the brown trout. Special hatcheries keep from
depleting every season. The best bets are the river
Larji, Trithan and the Sainj.The river Parvathi and
the Manikaran area is another trout haunt the Chamba
and Kangra valley.
B) GARHWAL HIMALAYAS : Dodital
lake nestled amongst the snow-clad peaks in the Uttarkashi
district, its fresh lake teeming with trout and a
catch is almost a certainty.
C) SOUTH INDIA : The upper
Bhawani and Mukurti lakes in the Nilgiri mountains
offer pristine surroundings for the rainbow trout.
A rare sighting of the Nilgiri Tahr and the golden
faced black langoor is possible sometimes.
