Tour to Char Dham
Destination : Haridwar / Rishikes / Joshimath / Badrinath / Badinath / Govind Ghat / Gangaria / Govindghat / Joshimath / Yamnotri / Hanuman Chatti / Haridwar / Delhi.
Duration : 22 Nights / 23 Days
Day 1, Haridwar / Rishikesh (Byasi).
Arrive Haridwar (294 m) by Deharadun Shatabdi Express. (Dep. 07.00 hrs. from Delhi, Arr. at 11.25 hrs.). Receive by our driver and drive about 3 hrs. to Byasi, Rishikesh. En route sightseeing of Rishikesh. Overnight in hotel.
Day 2, Rishikesh (Byasi) / Joshimath.
Today after breakfast a long drive (230 kms / 10hrs.) along the rushing Alaknanda River to Joshimath (1975 m) seat of Shankaracharya and the winter a bode of Lord Badrinath. En route make a short stop at Dev Prayag the confluence of river Alaknanda & Bagirathi. O/n hotel.
Day 3, Joshimath / Badrinath.
Morning after breakfast drive (45 km/ about 2 hrs.), to Badrinath (3096 m), visit the one of the most holy pilgrimage centre of the Char Dham yatra. Also visit the Cave temples at Mana. Further if you find time walk about 5 kms to Vasu Dhara (water falls). Overnight in simple Tourist Lodge / Guest House.
Day 4, Badinath / Govind Ghat / Gangaria.
After early breakfast we drive to Govind ghat (1849 m), about 20 kms, from here our three days trek begins to Valley of Flowers, steep and hard at some places meet local people. From Govind Ghat start trek to Gangaria-3048 m, (14 kms). Overnight in Tents.
Day 5, Gangaria / Valley of flowers / Gangaria ( 10 kms trek return).
After breakfast, we start our trek to the Valley of Flowers (3658 m), with packed lunch, the trek is beautiful, through forests, and meadows, with lovely views of Garhwal Himalaya. Evening return back to tented camp for overnight stay.
Day 6, Gangaria / Govindghat / Joshimath.
Today we trek back to Govind Ghat about 14 kms. Here board the Jeeps and drive about 25 kms to Joshimath. Afternoon explore the bazaar and temples. Overnight in Hotel.
Day 7, Joshimath / Gaurikund.
After breakfast we drive in the direction of Gaurikund (1981 m), via Chopta- 2900 m, (170 km/ about 6-7 hrs). Overnight in Simple (GMVN) Tourist Lodge / Tents.
Day 8, Gaurikund / Kedarnath.
Today we trek distance of 14 km to Kedarnath (3584 m), one of the most holy centres of Char Dham. Stay overnight in Tourist Lodge / Tents.
Day 9, Kedarnath / Gaurikund.
Trek back to Gauri Kund and spend the night.
Day 10, Gaurikund / Uttarkashi (1150 m).
After early breakfast drive to Uttarkashi (about 245 km/ 10 hrs). Overnight in guest house.
Day 11, Uttarkashi,
A day free for rest and to visit NIM (Nehru Institute of Mountaineering) & the local bazaar. Overnight hotel.
Day 12, Uttarkashi / Harsil / Gangotri.
After early breakfast we drive 95 km to Gangotri. En route explore the picturesque Harsil Valley (2620 m), rich with walnut, apple and deodar trees. Close by visit the charming Bhoti (Buddhist) village. Later arrive at Gangotri (3042 m), for overnight stay in Simple Guest House.
Day 13, Gangotri / Bhojvasa.
Morning visit the Goddess Ganga temple. Take the blessing & continue trek (14 km/ 6-7 hrs) to Bhojvasa (3792 m) via Chirvasa (3350 m). Overnight in Tents.
Day 14, Bhojvasa / Gaumukh,
Morning, continue walking to Gaumukh-3890 m, (about 4hrs.) Gaumukh, (cow's mouth) at the base of the Bhagirathi peaks is the actual source of the holy river Ganges. The mighty Shivling (6543 m) towers above, looking down like an old learned man, while the Bhagirathi I, II & III peaks tower above. Overnight in Tents.
Day 15, Gaumukh / Gangotri,
After breakfast we retrace our steps to Gangotri, takes about 7 hrs. via Bhojvasa & Chirvasa. Soaring Himalayan peaks play 'hide and seek' all the way to Gangotri. Arrive Gangotri & check-into guest house for overnight.
Day 16, Gangotri / Uttarkashi,
pillgrimage tour packageToday we drive back to the pilgrim town of Uttarkashi, (75 km/ 4 hrs) following the surging river downstream, en route visit the hot-sulphar spring at Gangnani. If you wish here you can take a bath in the hot-sulpher water. Overnight hotel.
Day 17, Uttarkashi / Hanuman Chatti (2400 m).
After early breakfast we start drive to Hanuman Chatti (about 120 km/ 5-6 hrs). via Barkot (2118 m). Arrive and transfer to Tourist Lodge / Tents.
Day 18, Hanuman Chatti / Janki Chatti.
Our last stage of pilgrimage trek commences from Hnauman Chatti. We trek about 8 km to Janki Chatti (2575 m). Overnight in Tents.
Day 19, Janki Chatti / Yamnotri.
Morning we trek of about 5 kms to Yamnotri (3165 m). Rest of the day explore & visit one of the four important Char Dhams at Yamnotri. Overnight in Tents.
Day 20, Yamnotri / Hanuman Chatti.
After breakfast retrace our trek to Hanuman Chatti via Janki Chatti (about 14 kms). Overnight in (GMVN) Tourist Lodge / Tents.
Day 21, Hanuman Chatti / Haridwar.
Morning we start our long drive back to Haridwar (231 km/ takes about 9 hrs). Arrive and transfer to comfortable hotel.
Day 22, Haridwar / Delhi.
Morning proceed for sightseeing of Haridwar visiting the temples, Ashrams and the bathing Ghats on the river Ganges. Afternoon drive about 6hrs. to Delhi and transfer straight to international airport.
Day 23, Delhi - Europe fly.
