Day 1. Delhi
Arrive Delhi. Met on arrival and transfer to hotel
for overnight stay.
Day 2. DELHI / CHANDIGARH / DHARAMSALA
Morning transfer to station to board train for Chandigarh.
Met upon arrival and drive to Dharamsala (1250m/
320 kms) . Lunch enroute. Arrive and transfer to
hotel tour overnight stay.
Day 3. DHARAMSALA
Morning at leisure for independent activities. Afternoon,
half day sightseeing tour. Also called the "Little
Lhasa of India", Dharamsala is divided
into upper and lower towns and the altitude varies
from 1250m to 2000m. Dharamsala is also the seat
of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, who now lives in
Mcleod Ganj (1730m) in upper Dharamsala. Overnight
stay at hotel.
Day 4. DHARAMSALA / CHAMBA
Morning after breakfast drive to Chamba (1800m)
by covering approx. 270 kms. Chamba is the western
most district of Himachal Pradesh. The river Chenab
runs through in the north and the river Ravi in
the south. In the centre of the town there is a
spacious playground called the Chowgan, a grassy
field, about 805 m in length and 73m wide. Among
the most interesting objects in Chamba are a number
of richly carved temples. Arrive and overnight stay
at tourist bungalow.
Day 5. CHAMBA / TRAILA
Morning, after breakfast, drive to reach the roadhead
Traila 125 kms by covering the Pangi valley which
is a land of pretty faces, beautiful dances and
scenic splendour. Mainly two communities, namely
Pangwala and Bhots inhabit this valley. Arrive and
overnight stay at tourist bungalow.
Day 6. TRAILA / SATRUNDI
Morning, after breakfast, start first days trek
to Satrundi ( 2900m ) via a small village Bhanodi
covering 15 kms. Two day's trek through forest,
ascends and descends upto Satrundi. Arrive Satrundi
and overnight stay in tents.
Day 7. SATRUNDI / SACH PASS / BINDRABANI
Morning, after breakfast, start trekking to reach
Bindrabani (14 kms) by crossing Sach pass ( 4500m)
which is a steep ascent of 5 kms from Satrundi.
From the pass you can have a serene and beautiful
view of many virgin peaks, hanging glaciers and
towering rocky mountains. After the pass cross the
2 km long glacier. Arrive Bindrabani ( 2750m) and
overnight stay in tents.
Day 8. BINDRABANI / KILLAR
Morning, after breakfast, trek to Killar ( 2400m
/11 kms ) which is situated amidst criss crossing
trails in a deep and narrow gorge of Chenab river.
From Killar one has many options, either trek northeast
and reach Kishtwar (Jammu) or trek east and halfway
to Kishtwar cross Umasil and reach Zanskar or trek
southeast and reach Keylong (Manali). This is the
route which we will be taking to reach Keylong.
Overnight stay in tents at Killar
Day 9. KILLAR / PURTHI
Morning, after breakfast, trek to Purthi ( 2200
m 24 kms ). After covering 7 - 8 kms, the trail
turns east for Purthi. Purthi is a very beautiful
place known for one of the best forest nurseries
and historical rest house on the right bank of Chandra
Bhaga. Arrive Purthi and overnight stay tents.
Day 10 . PURTHI / RAOLI
Morning, after breakfast, start trek (114 kms )
with moderate ascents I descents. Reach Raoli
( 2000 m ) and overnight stay in tent.
Day 11 . RAOLI / MANALI
Morning, after an early breakfast, drive to Manali
(1920m) via Keylong (3350m ). Keylong is an "Oasis
of green fields" and on can also visit
the Khardong monastery. Lunch enroute. Arrive Manali
and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 12. MANALI
Morning at leisure. Afternoon half day city sightseeing
tour Manali. Visiting Hadimba temple, Vashisht hot
springs and the mountaineering institute. Overnight
stay at the hotel.
Day 13. MANALI/ KULLU / DELHI
Morning after breakfast drive to KuIlu time to board
flight to Delhi.
