Boat (Kettuvallom)These extra ordinary boats have been the main
source of transport between inaccessible villages for hundreds of years as
they ply the backwaters, weighed down with cargo. You may now stay on these
beautifully crafted vessels and gently cruise the backwaters at your own
pace. Undisturbed by the sound of traffic, you will see rural, village life
and the birdlife is exceptional. The boats themselves comprise one or two
small bedrooms with attached bathrooms and a larger, open-sided sitting
area. They are fully staffed with a captian and a cook.
Raheem
Residency Beach VillaRaheem Residency is a genuine heritage home
built in 1868 that incorporates both Mughal and colonial influence in its
architectural style. Situated on an underdeveloped beach side in Alleppey,
Raheem Residency is a spacious bungalow with a large high ceilinged living
room, generous front and back verandahs and six en-site airconditioned bed
rooms furnished in the traditional Kerala style. There is also a two-bedroom
independent unit in a separate courtyard, refurbished from old outhouses
used to store coconuts. The attractions of the heritage home include a
four-poster bed bought, as a wedding gift in 1930 by the family, the Apple
Pool, named after the Velvet Apple tree in the courtyard, is a 14.7 m pool
from France. The perch at the top of the spiral staircase offers an
unrestrained view of the Arabian Sea.

Marari Beach ResortSet in 30 acres of beautifully maintained
rambling gardens offering hundreds of coconut palms inter-spread with mango,
jack and other exotic tropical fruit trees leading down to the vast expanse
of Marari Beach. The rooms have been built in the style of a traditional
fishing village with thatched villas. The 400 sq.ft. spacious villas are all

LagoonThe Coconut Lagoon is situated on the shores of the Vembanadu
Lake, in the heart of the Keralan backwaters. This peaceful resort,
originally a coconut grove, is only accessible by boat, through a narrow
network of canals. Accommodation is provided in traditional cottages and
some original Keralan houses. Modern bathrooms and air-conditioning
complement the old style. The state of Kerala is famous for its cuisine and
the Coconut Lagoon provides fine examples of vegetarian and non-vegetarian
dishes as well as international dishes. Boat trips through the backwaters
are highly recommended and there is also a swimming pool and Ayurvedic and
yoga facilities.
Kumarakom Lake ResortAesthetically
developed on the shores of the Vembanad Lake, the property has been
exquisitely landscaped with numerous canals meandering in and around the 22
cottages reconstructed over the 10 acres of picturesque greenery overlooking
the stretch of the lake. Each cottage pertains to traditional style of the
Illams (homesteads) and have a legacy. The cottage have been painstakingly
plucked from various villages in Kerala and transplanted. Right on the bank
